Hello all, For the life of me, I can find my start up disc for my ready NAS rnd2110 ready nas duo v2. I want the software for the dashboard so I can change settings, add user names, etc. If it is not an executable, I need instructions to install. UPDATE 2: Maartonius solved this issue: 'Go to your Origin install folder. I uninstalled Origin and installed it again, updated it and I have the same problem. UPDATE: Well, that's weird. My steam wont open for mac. It doesn't open. What can I do for solve this? I see software on the site but it says to upgrade it using the dashboard. I don't have it. I can access the drive with the old settings I have on it. Just need the basic software for the dashboard. I have both PC and MAc. Prefer mac but will take either one at this point thanks. So I realize now that using /Admin after the IP address is what I was doing wrong. However the username and password is different than the account I set up within. I set up the password recovery and it says it would send me an email resetting my password I can't rememeber. I don't get the email. So I was reading that i could reset the unit but watch that I don't delete any data. Can someone give me some isight on either the password retrieval with the email that isn't working for me or resetting the unit WITHOUT deleting the data. Ok I tried this. There was even someone on Youtube that did it was well. My problem is that when I shutdown. I have also unplugged and plugged back in with the paperclip in the back before powerup. It doesn't get to step 4 which is all the lights illuminating so I can pick the choice of the boot menu. What happens is that the powerlight blinks on and off repeatidly. It doesn't stop. I have held the paerclip in place for 5+ minutes with no end to the power button blinking. I turn off and turn back on without the reset button in place and it gets to the normal state where I can acess my data. Kwiat87268 wrote: I replied with a pic of the bottom of the unit. Yes it is a Duo V2 Actually it's a v1 (Sparc based unit) that runs 4.1.x firmware. A v2 (arm based unit) runs 5.3.x firmware. The labels are confusing, which is why I specified looking at the frontpanel and for the -200 in the part number. Anyway, the correct procedure for the OS reinstall is on page 15-16 here: Unfortunately the mistake means you started to execute the factory reset procedure - which is destructive. So you might have lost your data. I cannot beleive it is not a Version 2. That is so ridiculous. You are right of course. It says V2 for God's sake. So i have some good news and some bad news. The good news outweighs the bad news. Because the lights didn't all illuminate after I held the paperclip for 5 minutes. I pulled the plug on the unit each time I tried. Not a preferred way to shut down but I guess it prevented data from being erased. Bad news, still in the same situation. From the directions, I did the following.tried it twice. First time: 1) Shutdown 2) Held the reset button as I powered back up 3) 5 seconds later the drive lights flashed 4) Released the reset button. Second time: 1). Unplugged system for about 20 seconds. Held the reset button 4). Plugged in system while still holding the reset button 5). Powered up still holding the reset button 6). Waited for 5 secs when the drive lights flashed 7). Released the reset button. Still cannnot get into admin settings using username: admin password: password Also I guess I was expecting other things to go to default such as my user name and passwords to get into the usernae accounts. The set mapping for the IP address, etc. Nothing changed. ![]() On the v1/v2 thing - your system was built before the 'real' v2 products were launched. What your label means is that you have hardware revision 2 of a Duo. Netgear's mistake was branding the OS 5 NAS as v2 - they should have chosen a different product name. We've been dealing with that mistake here ever since (and I'm sure it's a pain for Netgear support also). Kwiat87268 wrote: what is the easiest best way to update the firmware? What firmware are you running now?
